Very High VA EVA (28–40%)

Nianjing offers Very High VA EVA (28–40%) for manufacturers and formulators requiring specialized EVA materials beyond standard grades. We support commercial grade sourcing from established producers and can help identify suitable material options for specific production requirements and order volumes.

Very High VA EVA (28–40%) includes commercial EVA grades with high vinyl acetate content for formulations requiring specific flexibility, adhesion, polarity or melt-flow characteristics. Depending on the grade, these materials are used in hot-melt adhesives, selected foam formulations, specialty films, flexible compounds and other application-specific products.

Nianjing sources these grades from established manufacturers according to the required manufacturer, grade, technical specification, application and quantity. For material selection or replacement, the manufacturer's current TDS and COA provide a practical basis for comparing commercial grades.

Where Very High VA EVA Is Used

Very High VA EVA is generally selected according to the requirements of the formulation or finished product rather than VA content alone.

Hot-melt adhesives are an important application. Higher-VA EVA can provide useful polarity and flexibility and can be formulated with tackifying resins, waxes and other components. The appropriate grade depends on melt viscosity, flow behavior, softening characteristics, adhesion requirements and the adhesive application process.

Foam and flexible products can use selected grades where the formulation requires a softer or more flexible polymer base. Finished foam performance depends on the EVA grade, blowing and crosslinking systems, fillers and processing conditions. Density, hardness, rebound, compression behavior and dimensional stability should therefore be considered when selecting the material.

Specialty films, coatings and flexible compounds may use higher-VA EVA where adhesion, flexibility or sealing characteristics are required. Substrate compatibility, extrusion conditions and the requirements of the finished structure should be evaluated together with the material grade.

Selected application-specific grades are also used in areas such as photovoltaic encapsulation, wire and cable compounds and other specialty formulations. These applications require additional specifications that cannot be determined from VA content alone.

Grade Selection for 28–40% VA EVA

A nominal VA content does not uniquely identify an EVA grade. Commercial products with similar VA content can have different melt indexes, densities, molecular characteristics, additive systems and processing recommendations.

This is particularly important when comparing grades around the upper-20% VA level, where commercial materials can have substantially different flow characteristics and application positioning.

For procurement, Very High VA EVA is better specified by the complete commercial grade rather than simply requesting a material such as "28% EVA" or "40% EVA."

Useful specification information includes:

  • Manufacturer and grade number
  • VA content
  • Melt index or melt flow rate
  • Processing method
  • Intended application
  • Required mechanical or thermal properties
  • Adhesion or sealing requirements where applicable
  • Optical or electrical requirements for specialty applications
  • Required quantity
  • Packaging and delivery requirements

For an existing material replacement, the current manufacturer, grade number and TDS are particularly useful. If no specific grade has been selected, sourcing can start from the required VA content, melt index, application, processing method and quantity.

Processing and Melt Index

Melt index is an important parameter when comparing Very High VA EVA grades for adhesive, coating, extrusion or molding applications.

MI values should only be compared when the test temperature, applied load and test method are equivalent. A higher MI indicates greater flow under the specified test conditions; it does not automatically indicate better material quality or determine the processing method by itself.

Actual processing suitability also depends on equipment, product geometry, formulation, temperature profile, output requirements and finished-product specifications.

For replacement sourcing, Nianjing can use the existing grade's TDS and processing requirements as references when comparing available commercial materials.

Application-Specific Requirements

Some Very High VA EVA grades are developed for applications with requirements beyond general polymer properties.

For photovoltaic encapsulation, material selection may involve optical performance, electrical insulation, crosslinking behavior, thermal stability and aging performance. These characteristics are specific to the encapsulation grade and cannot be confirmed simply from a 28–40% VA specification.

For electrical and cable applications, additional requirements may include insulation performance, thermal behavior and relevant industry or customer specifications.

For hot-melt adhesives, viscosity, softening behavior, adhesion, open time and compatibility with the complete formulation may be more important than VA content alone.

Application-specific EVA should therefore be evaluated using the manufacturer's technical documentation and the actual production requirements rather than classified only by VA percentage.

Manufacturer Grades and Technical Documents

Very High VA EVA is available from manufacturers in China, Japan, South Korea, Taiwan and other markets. Product names, grade specifications and production status can change, so current manufacturer documentation should be used when confirming a commercial material.

Nianjing can source grades from established EVA manufacturers according to the required specification. Where a specific brand or grade is requested, the manufacturer and grade number can be used as the primary reference. Where no specific grade has been selected, sourcing can be based on VA content, melt index, application, processing method and quantity.

Common technical documents include:

  • Technical Data Sheet (TDS)
  • Safety Data Sheet (SDS)
  • Certificate of Analysis (COA)
  • Product specification
  • Processing recommendations
  • Applicable compliance or regulatory documentation

For photovoltaic, electrical, medical, food-contact or other regulated applications, the relevant compliance status should be confirmed for the exact commercial grade and intended use.

Nianjing Very High VA EVA Sourcing

Nianjing is a China EVA supplier providing sourcing support for commercial EVA grades rather than manufacturing a single standardized formulation. Material selection can be based on an existing manufacturer grade or on a defined technical requirement.

For specification-based sourcing, the practical starting point is:

VA Content → Manufacturer/Grade → Melt Index → Processing Method → Application → Required Properties → Quantity → Delivery Requirement

If you are sourcing Very High VA EVA (28–40%), provide the target VA content, preferred manufacturer or grade, melt index, application, processing method and required quantity. An existing TDS or COA is also useful when replacing an existing material or comparing alternative grades.
